The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) is a two-year NCTE-approved professional degree that prepares graduates to serve as trained teachers across primary, upper-primary, and secondary school levels. Aligned with the National Education Policy 2020, the programme bridges academic knowledge with pedagogy, psychology of learning, curriculum design, and inclusive classroom practice. Students develop competencies in lesson planning, reflective teaching, educational assessment, digital integration in classrooms, and the management of learner-diverse environments through structured school internships and practicum components.
The programme’s relevance is anchored in India’s ongoing school education reform — the transition to competency-based learning, NEP-driven foundational literacy and numeracy priorities, and the expanding mandate for trained teachers in both government and private institutions. Graduates are eligible for appointment as Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT) in government and private schools after qualifying for the CTET or state TET examinations. Career pathways also extend to curriculum development, teacher education, educational publishing, school administration, and postgraduate study through M.Ed.
