The B.Tech. Lateral Entry programme is a three-year AICTE-approved pathway that enables diploma holders in engineering or technology, and B.Sc. graduates in relevant science disciplines, to enter the second year of a Bachelor of Technology programme directly, completing a full engineering degree in an accelerated timeframe. Students undergo a bridge curriculum in the initial semester to consolidate foundational engineering knowledge, before integrating fully into the mainstream B.Tech. curriculum — including all core modules, laboratory work, industry projects, and placement activities — and graduating with credentials identical to those of regular-intake students.

This route recognises the practical technical knowledge that polytechnic and diploma graduates bring from prior professional training, offering an efficient, cost-effective pathway to a full engineering degree at a time when formal credentials are increasingly central to employment and career advancement. Graduates are eligible for all opportunities available to regular B.Tech. graduates: positions in core engineering industries, government technical services, private sector roles, and the Indian engineering services. The degree also enables progression to M.Tech. programmes and GATE examinations, significantly widening long-term career prospects.
